Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 26, 2025
Lektra (formerly Ava Energy) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect data from two primary types of users:
- Solar Owners / Node Hosts (individuals or businesses hosting Lektra devices)
- Compute Users (individuals or businesses renting compute resources via Lektra Cloud)
1. Information we collect
We collect two main categories of data:
- Identifiable Information – tied to your account, billing, or device registration
- Anonymized Data – used for performance optimization, analytics, and forecasting without linking back to you personally.
A. From Solar Owners / Node Hosts
Identifiable:
- Name, email, contact details
- Payment and payout information
- Node registration and operational logs tied to your account
- Usage and earnings history
Anonymized:
- Energy production and consumption data from your solar system
- Battery and storage metrics
- GPU utilization and task performance
- System health, uptime, and connectivity metrics
- Aggregated behavior patterns (e.g., average latency or job success rate)
These anonymized data points are used to optimize global orchestration and system reliability without linking back to your identity, except in rare cases (e.g., system diagnostics or support).
B. From Compute Users
Identifiable:
- Name, email, and billing information
- Compute task history tied to your account
- Payment methods, subscription tier, and usage thresholds (if enabled)
Anonymized:
- Type, complexity, and resource intensity of tasks submitted
- GPU/CPU cycles consumed per workload
- Outcome-based task data (e.g., images processed, queries completed)
- Aggregate usage trends across industries and time zones
We use anonymized usage patterns to improve pricing fairness, forecast demand, and enhance resource matching. Individual compute jobs are never publicly disclosed or linked to your identity.
When you use Lektra Cloud to run compute tasks, we collect:
- Account Information: Name, contact info, billing details
- Compute Usage Data: Tasks submitted, GPU time or outcomes consumed, duration, and resource intensity
- Outcome Metrics: Interactions, transactions, or tasks completed (e.g., number of inferences, images processed)
- Payment History & Preferences: Subscription tier, payment method, usage caps (if enabled)
2. How we use the data
We use the collected data to:
- Match compute tasks to optimal nodes (based on energy availability, performance, and cost)
- Monitor and optimize system performance and uptime
- Improve energy and compute efficiency across the network
- Provide transparent billing (including outcome-based pricing for compute users)
- Calculate and distribute earnings to solar hosts
- Detect anomalies and ensure security
- Comply with applicable legal and regulatory standards.
3. Billing transparency & smart contracts
Lektra's billing for compute users is powered by smart contracts. This ensures:
- You only pay for completed tasks (not idle time)
- Usage limits and caps can be enforced automatically
- Solar owners receive verifiable, real-time income tracking.
4. Data security & compliance
- All data in transit and at rest is encrypted using industry standards (HTTPS/TLS, AES)
- Our infrastructure is SOC 2-compliant and monitored for intrusion attempts and anomalies
- Each device is uniquely authenticated and managed via secure protocols
- Access controls are enforced across all user roles and system tiers.
6. Your rights & choices
You may:
- View, update, or delete your personal data from your account dashboard
- Request a copy of the data we've collected on you
- Opt out of non-essential telemetry collection (may affect system performance)
- Set compute usage caps or cost thresholds via smart contracts.
8. Retention
We retain your data only as long as necessary for system functionality, legal compliance, or as otherwise permitted by law.
